Editorial Photo Treatment & Style Development
Divine Details
Divine Details is a podcast hosted by Paula Chavarria that celebrates the world of extraordinary moments, exploring the unique stories behind them. Focusing on hospitality, health & wellness, travel, and adventure we uncover the details that make unique experiences stand out. Each episode is a window into what it takes to create world-class experiences that leave a lasting impact and where they can be found.
I crafted a logo, brand guidelines, Spotify cover tiles, editorial-style photo edits, and developed a custom photo treatment style. All photos originally by Meredith Diamond.

The brief: Develop a logo for Divine Details that captures strong femininity, elegance, unapologetic boldness, and a few undeniably custom details. Then, using photos by Meredith Diamond, create a cover using images of the host, Paula Chavarria, with plenty of black and white options.
The challenge was clear: How to stand out in a saturated podcast market as a newly launching pod? My solution was to develop a custom photo manipulation style using film grain, noise, dusty textures to simulate the magic of analog photography. Motion blur manipulation helped create “echoes” of host Paula across her covers: a lingering touch that allows the logo to pop, and gives the audience something to chew on.

Divine Details’ logo was adapted from the font Sailing Club: a strong, bold, structured, statement font family, paired with soft, high- stroke-contrast italics, for femininity and elegance. Organic, curving letter terminals mimic old school ink printing, linking the filmic aberrations in photo edits. Ligatures and serifs were linked to create a flowing, curvaceous type structure.
Brand guidelines were thoughtfully crafted to include illustration options from the angels collection in Heritage Type Co. (a royalty-free vintage illustration archive, often sourcing from woodblock prints), and instructions for recreating custom the brand’s custom photo editing style.
